And for a long time, that advice worked.

But the online world in 2026 looks very different from the internet of 2016. Technology is evolving faster than ever, AI tools are changing how people create, and online businesses are becoming more flexible and creative.

Because of that, being a jack of all trades is no longer seen as unfocused. In many cases, it’s actually one of the biggest advantages a creator or entrepreneur can have.

My Journey: From Print-on-Demand to a Multi-Creative Business

My own experience is a good example of how this works.

When I first started online in 2016, my focus was print-on-demand. I created designs and uploaded them to third-party marketplaces where people could buy them on products like shirts and other items.

At the time, that was a popular path for independent creators.

But over time, the online landscape changed.

Platforms changed. Algorithms shifted. And eventually AI tools began influencing the creative space, which altered how designs were created and distributed.

Like many creators, I had to adapt.

Instead of giving up, I began to pivot and explore other ways to use my creativity.

Today my work includes several different areas:

  • Offering graphic design services such as logo design and photo editing
  • Writing blog posts about creativity, anxiety, introversion, and personal growth
  • Sharing tools and resources through affiliate links
  • Continuing to create print-on-demand products, but now selling them directly through my own website instead of relying entirely on third-party platforms

Each step built on the last one. What started as a single creative outlet gradually evolved into something much bigger.
