🧠✨ Why is mental health still looked down on?

🧠✨ Why is mental health still looked down on? Especially for those of us who are high-functioning?

People with anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, OCD, etc.—we often look “fine.” We get things done. We show up. We work hard.
But behind the scenes? We’re struggling. Masking. Exhausted. Constantly battling thoughts and overwhelm that no one sees.

And yet, society praises us for pushing through... while judging us the second we speak up.
Why?
Because high-functioning struggles are invisible.
Because we’ve been taught to hide instead of ask for help.
Because there aren't enough people like us represented, supported, or taken seriously.

✨ Just because we “can” do something, doesn’t mean we’re not struggling.
✨ Just because we appear capable, doesn’t mean we don’t need compassion.

I’m one of those people—and I’m done pretending I have it all together.

Let’s talk more about the silent side of mental and developmental disabilities.

Like... getting paranoid because everything feels fine?? 😳
Anxiety isn’t always loud—it’s sneaky. It’s overthinking convos, dodging good news, or feeling physically sick for no reason.

Working in retail has just proven to me that I mad

Working in retail has just proven to me that I made the right choice when I downsized my own shop... I mean I had like over 500 prodcuts in my shop....

today reminded me of this when I was filling the battery rack and a coworker was ranting about why we need EVERY battery known to man... like we have rayovac, we have Duracell, we have three types of energizer.... we have recharable... same with hair color and shampoo....

Anyway point of story.... having more choices isn't always best. :)

I have just under 100 prodcuts now in my personal store and keep my Zazzle for testing... even their i dont post every prodcut and every design like I use to...

It’s like I knew I had anxiety and mental health

It’s like I knew I had anxiety and mental health issues… even as a kid.
I didn’t have the words for it, but I’d say things like “I’m struggling” without knowing why.
⁣
Looking back, the signs were all there:
🧍‍♀️ Clinging to “safe” people
😶 Zoning out constantly
💅 Picking at my nails + lips
🫣 Being too quiet to avoid attention
😔 Getting upset over things that didn’t even happen—just made-up scenes in my head

I thought people were talking about me…
When I was probably the last thing on their mind.
⁣
I’ve come a long way, but I still catch myself doing some of these things.
Old habits die hard—but healing is a process, not a finish line.

If younger you did these too, you weren’t dramatic or broken. You were just trying to survive.
